"The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament."
We value the Sacrament of Marriage both for the couple and for the building up of the community. Preparation begins at least six months prior to the celebration of the sacrament. In addition to planning the wedding ceremony, marriage preparation includes meetings with the priest or deacon and formational sessions.
The engaged couple meets with peers and Sponsor Couples in a series of four formational sessions facilitated by the Sponsor Couple. There is also a day-long retreat. Engaged couples must take the FOCCUS interview, which is then reviewed in a meeting between them and the Sponsor Couple.
The first step for those who wish to be married at St. Rose is to call the Parish Office (Mon.-Fri., 9:00am-5:00pm) and speak with the Parish Secretary, who will obtain necessary information and coordinate your intial meeting with the priest or deacon.
