On April 23rd, two Adaptive RE students were fully initiated into the Church with the Sacrament of Confirmation and four received their First Holy Communion! St. Rose has a rich history of providing access to faith for persons with differing abilities, including those with developmental, sensory and physical disabilities, mental health challenges and other special needs.
Did you know that according to the National Directory of Catechesis, Par. 49, "All persons with disabilities have the capacity to proclaim the Gospel and to be living witnesses to its truth within the community of faith and offer valuable gifts. Their involvement enriches every aspect of Church life. They are not just recepients of catechesis - they are also its agents."
May we welcome each Adaptive RE student into the life of our church community. Click HERE for pictures from this Mass.
