The St. Rose Staff has been contacted by several parishioners yesterday and today, June 6-7, 2020, about an email that appears to have been sent by Father Mateo asking to respond to him since he is busy and can ONLY correspond with you through email. With this email, it has also been reported that Fr. Mateo's picture was also displayed.
Fr. Mateo
DID NOT
send this email asking for assistance. This is
SPAM
. DO NOT respond to this email and any subsequent email that may be sent. Fr. Mateo or any other member of the St. Rose staff would not solicit assistance in this manner.
If you receive a suspicious
email from Fr. Mateo or anyone from the staff
, carefully look at the email address that sent it. If it is not from @strose.com, consider the email bogus and delete it. The current email was sent from the email address: " FROM: Rev. Agustin Mateo Ayala
"
Notice the address ended with
@gmail.com instead of @strose .com. This highly indicates the request is
SPAM and
NO action on your part should be taken. .
When staff receives notification of these types of email, the vendor, in the case Google, is contacted which has resulted with the account being terminated. The spammers then create another email address to use.
If you ever have a question about a correspondence from St. Rose, please do NOT respond to the email and contact the office at 301-948-7545.
