This past Sunday, St. Rose was one of several collection sites for relief supplies to be sent to Ecuador. The idea to participate in this effort began early in the week and quickly grew in support. When issues were encountered, answers were found. Spreading the word that St. Rose was a collection site as well as asking for the assistance from the St Rose community for supplies was coordinated through several members of the St. Rose staff.
All and all, thousands of pounds of supplies were gather at St. Rose. All the donations within the Washington, Maryland and Virginia area are being consolidated at a centeral facility and being flown directly to Ecuador by the Ecuadorian Air Force.
Because of the required turnaround and logistic coordination, St. Rose is unable to collect any further supplies at this time. If the situation changes, the St. Rose community will be informed.
If you did not have an opportunity to donate the requested supplies and still wish to be a part of this effort, Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is collecting financial donations on their website. Please click on the picture below to be directed to CRS so you can make a financial donation.
