Who is a Christian steward? One who receives God's gifts gratefully, cherishes and tends them in a responsible and accountable manner, shares them in justice and love with others, and returns them with increase to the Lord." (Stewardship: A Disciple’s Response, USCCB pg 48, 66)
Stewardship is a fundamental spirituality for us as followers of Jesus Christ. Everything we possess comes to us as gifts from God, to be used wisely and shared for the common good.
Each year, we ask our parishioners to prayerfully discern how they will share their gifts of Time, Talent & Treasure in service to the parish for the coming year. Parishioners are invited to offer their formal commitments on Commitment Weekend, held in late October and early November.
In our Pastoral Plan, Father Mateo challenges us: "The community of faith has the capacity to call forth the gifts of each person. In order to do so in the light of Christ, we must be engaged with one another. Although it may be tempting to consider Church as one of the many tasks in our already full schedules, our baptismal call propels us to respond to needs with the gifts we have been given. We cannot expect others to serve in a way that the Holy Spirit is inspiring us to share. Where is God leading YOU to serve?
